Trilingual is 3 times as cool

Carly emailed today. She should have internet access about twice a week, and will start posting blogs. She speaks Spanish better than she thought, and was put in the advanced language group to learn Guarani. It's hot. She sweats. A lot. And everyone talks about the weather all the time because it's hot. or it's not, and they talk about it because they're happy.
It was a short note, but it was written with her usual perky spirit and enthusiasm, despite the fact she's probably lost 10 pounds from sweating. Don't forget to post a note, and if we all mail her some snacks, maybe she won't fade away from sweating.  I appreciate your support for her, and her posting should be the next one. Stay in touch with her as much as you can....Margo

  1. Mom just read your most recent blog. Sorry to hear it's so hot. It is 947pm, the Red Wings are losing, and it's starting to snow. So the whole city's freaking out because it's snowing. Not enough to cover the ground, but it's starting. That's the word of the day here. Love and miss you...Jeff p.s. Did they make you a soccer fan yet?

  2. Yo! I love all the adventures I hear about you via your mom. I can see you already having the time of your life! First off, of course you were put in advance language- just wait till you start spitting out your bio and body facts about life in spanish. then they will really see how weird and smart you are :)
Also, your body will adjust to the heat and start cooling itself down better. chill. hehe literally. ill send some ice in some dry ice if that would help you out. but i think you should prob ask for more productive things.... like protein.

stay safe! oh and i love youuuu and your hot self.

  3. It's cold here Carly! Really Cold....so enjoy the warmth. My friend lived in the middle of Australia for a year and it took some time, but after a month or so she no longer remembered that it was hot all the time as it became status quo.
